American defender Sergiño Dest has made a return to the soccer field after being sidelined for over 10 months due to knee surgery. The 24-year-old athlete made his comeback by playing in the 67th minute for PSV Eindhoven in their match against Heerenveen during an Eredivisie game on Saturday.

In a report on the club’s website, Dest mentioned, “Of course I have to take it easy and be careful, but it felt good.” His recent appearance marks his recovery journey from an ACL injury sustained during training on April 20, which required surgical intervention.

Dest joined PSV on a loan deal from Barcelona in August 2023 and secured a four-year contract with the Dutch club in June. Prior to his injury, the defender had scored two goals in 25 league appearances and participated in a total of 37 games.

On the international stage, Dest boasts two goals across 33 matches and played an integral role in all four of the U.S. team’s fixtures during the 2022 World Cup. PSV, the host team for the match against Heerenveen, secured a 2-1 victory and currently stands second in the Dutch top-tier league, trailing behind leader Ajax.
