SAN JOSE, Calif. — Donavan Yap’s impressive performance pushed San Jose State to a decisive 92-68 victory over Fresno State on Saturday, marking the end of the regular season.
Yap was a standout for the Spartans, scoring 30 points with an effective 11-of-14 shooting rate, including 5-of-7 from beyond the arc and converting 3-of-4 free throws. The win helped San Jose State conclude their season with a record of 14-18 overall and 7-13 in the Mountain West Conference.
Jermaine Washington offered strong support, contributing 19 points on 5-of-11 shooting, nailing 2-of-6 from three-point range, and sinking all seven of his free throw attempts. Washington also grabbed six rebounds, adding depth to the team’s performance. Additionally, Josh Uduje added 16 points with a 6-of-11 shooting performance, including 1-of-3 from three-point territory, and completing 3-of-4 free throws.
On the opposing side, Fresno State, which ended their season at 6-25 and just 2-18 in the conference, was led by Jasir Tremble. Tremble scored 22 points and managed to grab three steals, showcasing his effort despite the team’s struggle. Zaon Collins also contributed 17 points and three steals, while Elijah Price achieved a double-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and an impressive three blocks.
The game saw the Spartans dominating both offensively and defensively, ensuring that they ended their regular season on a high note, showcasing the potential within their squad.
