LOGAN, Utah — Utah State emerged victorious with a commanding 87-47 win over Air Force on Saturday, propelled by Mason Falslev’s impressive 18-point performance.
Falslev played a significant role for the Aggies, combining his scoring with seven rebounds to contribute to the team’s solid effort. Recording 25 victories against six losses, Utah State also benefitted from Ian Martinez’s dynamic contribution. Martinez added 14 points, hitting five out of 11 shots and making three of his eight attempts from beyond the arc, while also securing five rebounds. Dexter Akanno further supported the team with 10 points, successfully converting two of five shots from three-point range, along with four free throws out of five.
The Air Force Falcons, struggling throughout the season with a 4-27 record, were led by Will Cooper’s strong effort of 16 points. Meanwhile, Wesley Celichowski chipped in with six points, and Yoda Oke contributed five points to the team’s tally.
The Aggies firmly established control early in the game, managing to secure a lead just as the first half began, with 18:41 left on the clock. Dominating the court, Utah State stretched the lead to 50-23 by halftime, with Falslev already amassing 11 points by the intermission. Their dominance only expanded in the second half, achieving an 84-37 advantage as a result of a remarkable 16-1 scoring run that left little room for an Air Force comeback.
