    NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — In an intense face-off on Saturday, Iona emerged victorious over Sacred Heart with a close scoreline of 90-88, thanks to an outstanding performance by Yaphet Moundi. Moundi was on fire, finishing with a stellar 24 points, alongside 14 rebounds and three steals, crucial for the Gaels’ (15-16, 12-8 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) win.

    Supporting Moundi’s efforts, Dejour Reaves contributed with 19 points. His shooting was a mix, going 6 of 17 overall, including a solid 4 for 10 from three-point range, and 3 for 6 from the free-throw line. Reaves also showed defensive prowess with seven rebounds and three steals. Meanwhile, Comeh Emuobor made his presence felt by scoring 16 points and shooting 6 for 11 from the field, including 2 for 5 from beyond the arc.

    Sacred Heart’s effort was headlined by Tanner Thomas, who scored 20 points in the game.
