    NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — In an intense matchup, Iona emerged victorious over Sacred Heart with a close score of 90-88 on Saturday. Leading the charge for the Gaels was Yaphet Moundi, who delivered an impressive performance scoring 24 points. His contribution didn’t stop there as he also secured 14 rebounds and made three steals, showcasing a well-rounded game that helped his team clinch the win.

    Playing a pivotal role alongside Moundi was Dejour Reaves, who added 19 points to the scoreboard. Reaves showcased his shooting skills with a 6-of-17 performance from the field, including hitting 4 of 10 from the three-point line, and managed a 3-of-6 record from free throws. He also pulled in seven rebounds and garnered three steals, adding to his defensive efforts. Another significant contributor was Comeh Emuobor, who added 16 points, shooting 6-of-11 from the field and making 2 of 5 from long range.

    On the opposing end, the Sacred Heart Pioneers played valiantly but fell short in the nail-biter. Leading their effort was Tanner Thomas with a strong performance, scoring 20 points.
