In Sarasota, Florida, the Baltimore Orioles have announced that pitcher Grayson Rodriguez and reliever Andrew Kittredge will be absent for the team’s season opener due to injuries. Orioles manager Brandon Hyde conveyed this news to the press on Friday. According to Hyde, Rodriguez, the young starting pitcher, is experiencing discomfort in his pitching elbow. Meanwhile, Andrew Kittredge requires arthroscopic surgery on his knee and is expected to be out of action for several months.

Grayson Rodriguez, who is 25 years old and a right-handed pitcher, had an impressive season last year. He achieved a 13-4 record and maintained a 3.86 ERA across 20 starts. During these performances, Rodriguez managed to strike out 130 batters and walked 36 over the course of 116 2/3 innings.

On the other hand, Andrew Kittredge, who will soon turn 35 on March 17, had a productive stint last year. The reliever notched a 5-5 record with an impressive 2.80 ERA and secured one save in 74 appearances during his time with St. Louis.

The Baltimore Orioles are scheduled to commence their season against Toronto on March 27. With Rodriguez and Kittredge both sidelined, the team will have to adjust their roster and tactics accordingly as they prepare for the upcoming season.
