In Sioux Falls, South Dakota, St. Thomas-Minnesota clinched an impressive 80-62 win over Denver Thursday night during the quarterfinals of the Summit League Championship. Leading the charge for the Tommies was Miles Barnstable, who contributed 17 points and pulled down six rebounds, demonstrating a strong all-around performance.
The Tommies (23-9) also saw Kendall Blue shine, as he converted five of his 10 shots, including three out of five from beyond the arc, to rack up 15 points. Teammate Carter Bjerke also had an impactful game, hitting four out of six field goals and three out of four three-pointers, bringing his total to 13 points.
For Denver (11-20, 0-1), DeAndre Craig was the top scorer, ending the game with 15 points. Josh Pickett also made a notable contribution with 14 points, while Sebastian Akins added nine points to Denver’s efforts.
The Tommies took a commanding lead with just under 15 minutes remaining in the first half and maintained that momentum throughout the game. Blue’s 13 points in the opening half played a crucial role in helping St. Thomas-Minnesota establish a 48-32 advantage by halftime.
