Wright’s 42 points lead North Texas over Charlotte, 75-64

    DENTON, Texas — In an impressive performance, Atin Wright led North Texas to a 75-64 triumph over Charlotte on Thursday by scoring an outstanding 42 points.
    Wright was in top form, making 12 of his 17 shots, including 8 of 12 from beyond the arc, and converting all 10 free throws. This standout performance propelled the Mean Green to their 23rd victory of the season, securing a 14-3 record in the American Athletic Conference.

    Brenen Lorient contributed significantly to the effort, scoring 12 points while shooting efficiently at 4 of 7 from the field and 3 of 5 from the line. Adding to the team’s scorecard, Latrell Jossell chipped in with seven points, even though he shot 2 of 7 from the field and managed only 1 of 5 from beyond the three-point line. This victory marks North Texas’s seventh consecutive win.

    Charlotte faced a challenging game despite notable performances from their side. The 49ers, with a 10-20 record and 3-14 in conference play, were led by Nik Graves, who put up 20 points and recorded two steals. Giancarlo Rosado made a strong impact with 17 points and also secured 10 rebounds. Meanwhile, Robert Braswell contributed 12 points to Charlotte’s attempt to keep up with North Texas.

    The first half wrapped up with both teams neck and neck at 33 points each. Wright had already scored 13 points in the opening half, setting the stage for his explosive second half where he scored an additional 29 points, sealing an 11-point win for North Texas.

    Looking forward, both teams are set to play again on Sunday. North Texas is scheduled for an away game against Temple, while Charlotte will face UTSA on their home court.
