Croskey Shines with 26 in SC State’s Win Over NC Central

    ORANGEBURG, S.C. — A stellar performance by Omar Croskey propelled South Carolina State to a commanding 87-71 win over North Carolina Central on Thursday night. Croskey dazzled the home crowd with 26 points, making a significant impact on both ends of the court.

    In addition to his scoring outburst, Croskey pulled down nine rebounds and snatched four steals, anchoring a Bulldogs team with a record of 18-12 overall and 11-3 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. His efforts were supported by Mitchel Taylor, who shot 6 for 11 from the field and made three of five attempts from three-point range, finishing the game with 15 points. Drayton Jones was also efficient, converting four of five field-goal attempts and making all four of his free throws to contribute 12 points. The victory marked the ninth consecutive win for the Bulldogs, showcasing their strong form as the season progresses.

    On the other side, the Eagles, who hold a record of 13-18 and 6-8 in conference play, were led by Floyd Rideau. Rideau proved to be a bright spot for his team, scoring 14 points. Support came from Isaac Parson, who provided 12 points along with four assists, and Perry Smith Jr., who chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds.
