Hurley’s 24 points lead Vermont over Albany, 79-71

    BURLINGTON, Vt. — Vermont secured a 79-71 victory over Albany on Tuesday night, largely thanks to TJ Hurley’s impressive performance, contributing 24 points to the team’s score.

    As both teams gear up for their conference tournament matches on Saturday, Vermont and Albany will face separate opponents in the first round. Vermont, the second seed, is set to compete against seventh-seeded New Hampshire, while Albany, holding the fourth seed, will go head-to-head with fifth-seeded Binghamton.

    Displaying remarkable accuracy, Hurley hit 9 out of 12 shots from the field and successfully made 6 of his 8 attempts from beyond the arc for the Catamounts, whose record now stands at 20-11, with a 13-3 tally in the America East Conference. Sam Alamutu chipped in with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks, enhancing Vermont’s gameplay. Jace Roquemore also made his presence felt by scoring 12 points, with a shooting record of 4 of 8, including 2 of 4 from three-point territory.
