Dayton tops Saint Louis 75-67; Cheeks scores 17

    DAYTON, Ohio — Enoch Cheeks contributed 17 points as the Dayton Flyers overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Saint Louis, securing a 75-67 victory on Tuesday night.

    Cheeks was instrumental, also pulling down nine rebounds for Dayton (21-9, 11-6 Atlantic 10 Conference). Offensively supported by Nate Santos, who tallied 13 points by shooting 4 of 9 from the field, including 1 for 3 from beyond the arc, and converting 4 out of 5 free throws, while also snagging six rebounds. Zed Key added to the effort with 10 points, shooting 3 for 6 on field goals and perfect at the line with 4 for 4.

    Saint Louis, with a record of 17-13 and 10-7 in the conference, saw standout performances from Isaiah Swope who led all scorers with 28 points. Gibson Jimerson added valuable support with 23 points, eight rebounds, and two steals. Robbie Avila rounded out Saint Louis’ key contributors with 10 points.

    At halftime, Saint Louis held a 41-28 advantage over Dayton.

    Looking ahead, Dayton is set to face VCU on the road this upcoming Friday, while Saint Louis will return home to host Duquesne on Saturday.
