HUNTSVILLE, Texas — In an impressive display of skill, Sincere Parker racked up 22 points to lead McNeese to a decisive 95-64 victory over Stephen F. Austin on Monday evening. This triumph extends McNeese’s winning streak to nine games and secures their spot as the Southland Conference regular-season champions.
With this win, McNeese earns the top seed position, granting them the privilege of hosting the upcoming conference tournament at the Legacy Center in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The top four teams in the eight-team tournament automatically advance to the quarterfinals, which are scheduled for Monday. The teams seeded from fifth to eighth place will compete in the initial round of games on Sunday.
Alongside his scoring prowess, Parker grabbed six rebounds, contributing significantly to the Cowboys’ (25-6, 19-1) dominant performance. Joe Charles provided support with 15 points and nine rebounds, while DJ Richards made remarkable four out of five shots from beyond the three-point line to end with 14 points.
On the opposing side, Keon Thompson was the leading scorer for the Lumberjacks (14-17, 7-13), tallying 15 points. Kyle Hayman also contributed to Stephen F. Austin’s effort with 11 points and five assists.
