    DES MOINES, Iowa — In a thrilling match, Bennett Stirtz made a significant impact by scoring 23 points, helping Drake secure a 68-60 victory over Missouri State during an overtime game on Sunday.

    Stirtz was instrumental for the Bulldogs (27-3, 17-3 Missouri Valley Conference), as he also pulled down five rebounds. Meanwhile, Tavion Banks contributed significantly by adding 14 points, achieved through shooting 5 of 7 from the field and 3 of 6 from the free-throw line, complemented by his 11 rebounds.

    Missouri State (9-22, 2-18) saw notable performances from Dez White and Vincent Brady II, each scoring 17 points. During the first half, Stirtz led the charge for Drake with 12 points, allowing them to edge ahead 29-28 by halftime. The second half was closely contested, with Missouri State managing to level the game at 59 by the end of regulation.

    In the overtime, Banks was pivotal, scoring four points by making both of his field goal attempts, sealing the victory for Drake. The Bulldogs had already secured the top spot in the regular-season standings, while Missouri State finished at the bottom of the conference.
