In an electrifying NBA showdown in Memphis, Tennessee, the San Antonio Spurs edged out the Memphis Grizzlies with a thrilling 130-128 victory on Saturday night, clinched by De’Aaron Fox’s clutch jump shot in the final seconds.

With the score tied after Memphis center Jaren Jackson Jr. banked in a three-pointer with 22.3 seconds remaining, Fox stepped up to break the deadlock, delivering a 20-foot jumper with just 2.6 seconds on the clock to seal the win for the Spurs. The Memphis team was unable to respond as Santi Aldama’s last-second attempt fell short at the buzzer, prompting jubilation from Fox’s teammates.
The victory marked a significant moment for the Spurs, snapping a four-game losing streak. Stephon Castle was instrumental in the win, leading with 24 points and seven assists. Devin Vassell matched Fox’s 20 points, and Jeremy Sochan contributed 18 points, ensuring the Spurs stayed ahead amidst a competitive game.
Jaren Jackson Jr. stood out for the Grizzlies with a stellar 42-point performance. His efforts, however, were not enough to overcome the absence of key players Ja Morant and Desmond Bane, who missed the game due to soreness following a narrow defeat to the New York Knicks the previous night. Additional support came from Jaylen Wells, who scored 18 points, and Zach Edey, who tallied 17 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks.
San Antonio capitalized on a strong offensive start, shooting an impressive 61% in the first half and securing a 77-58 advantage at halftime. The Spurs maintained their lead despite various comeback attempts by the Grizzlies during the second half.
The game came down to the wire in typical fashion for Memphis, who had experienced close finishes in their past four games, underscoring the evening’s competitive tension. Despite their defeat, the Grizzlies showed improvement from their previous night’s shooting record, hitting 11 of 38 from beyond the arc after struggling with only four successful three-pointers against the Knicks.
Looking ahead, the Spurs will face the Oklahoma City Thunder at home on Sunday, while the Grizzlies are set to host the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.
