CSU Northridge triumphs 103-77 against UCSB

    NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — In an impressive offensive display, Scotty Washington led CSU Northridge to a commanding 103-77 victory over UCSB on Saturday.

    Washington was a standout performer, scoring a total of 23 points by making 8 of his 11 field goal attempts and going a flawless 7 for 7 on free throws. Marcus Adams Jr. contributed significantly to the Matadors’ triumph, adding 20 points with a shooting performance of 7 for 14 and perfect accuracy from the free-throw line, converting all six attempts. Keonte Jones also played a crucial role, scoring 16 points while making 6 of his 9 shots and maintaining a perfect record of 4 for 4 from the line.

    Despite some strong individual performances, the Gauchos couldn’t match the Matadors’ scoring prowess. Jason Fontenet II led UCSB with 18 points, showing effort and skill on the court. Following him, Stephan D. Swenson added 15 points and showcased his defensive abilities with two steals. Colin Smith rounded out the leading scorers for UCSB with 12 points.

    Looking ahead, CSU Northridge is scheduled to face UC Riverside in an away game this Thursday. Meanwhile, UCSB will prepare to host UC Irvine on Saturday, as both teams continue their conference play.
