    AUSTIN, Texas — On a brisk Saturday evening, Silas Demary Jr. took center stage for Georgia by netting 14 of his remarkable 26 points in the opening half, setting up a commanding victory over Texas with a score of 83-67. Coming off a thrilling 88-83 triumph over the No. 3 ranked Florida, the Bulldogs (18-11, 6-10 SEC) managed to seize an immediate advantage and maintained control of the game throughout, ensuring the Longhorns suffered their third consecutive defeat.

    The game initially seemed competitive when Tre Johnson of Texas made a dynamic three-point play, narrowing the score to 9-8. However, Georgia quickly responded by accumulating additional points with Asa Newell’s scoring and Dakota Leffew’s three-pointer. This surge propelled the Bulldogs to a 16-8 lead. Demary further extended the momentum with a pair of successful plays, driving the score into double digits. As the first half concluded, Blue Cain confidently sank a three-pointer, pushing the Bulldogs to a 46-29 lead at halftime.

    In the first half, Georgia excelled in shooting by hitting 17 of their 30 attempts (56.7%) and connecting successfully on half of their long-range efforts. By the final buzzer, they completed the game shooting 29 of 56 (51.8%) from the field and 8 of 22 from beyond the arc. Demary was notably efficient, making 8 of his 14 field goal attempts, including 3 of 6 from the three-point line, while also making 7 of 12 free throws. Cain made significant contributions with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Leffew and Newell put up 11 and 10 points, respectively.

    For Texas, Arthur Kaluma led the team with 15 points and seven rebounds. Jayson Kent offered additional support with 14 points coming off the bench, while Johnson chipped in with 13 points alongside four assists, and Jordan Pope added 10 points to Texas’s efforts.

    Georgia is set to wrap up its regular season with games against South Carolina on Tuesday and a home game hosting Vanderbilt on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Longhorns will aim to bounce back as they face No. 24 Mississippi State on Tuesday before returning home to play against Oklahoma on Saturday.
