TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida A&M secured a victory over Grambling with a final score of 73-68 on Saturday, largely credited to an impressive performance by Roderick Coffee III, who led the Rattlers by scoring 19 points.
Coffee demonstrated his shooting prowess with precision, hitting 6 out of 8 attempts from the field and a notable 5 out of 6 from the free-throw line. This win takes the Rattlers’ record to 13-14 overall and 10-6 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
Contributing to the victory, Sterling Young added 17 points, making 3 out of 6 shots, with a perfect 10 out of 10 from the free-throw line. Milton Matthews also added value with 14 points, making 4 of his 10 shots, including 3 out of 7 three-pointers, and perfect completion from the line.
Grambling’s side saw notable performances as well, with Kintavious Dozier leading their scoring chart with 13 points. Additionally, the Tigers benefited from Ernest Ross’s 11 points, followed by James Flippin’s contribution of 10 points.
Both teams are set to return to action on Monday. Florida A&M will face Southern at home, while Grambling will travel to confront Bethune-Cookman.
