Boise State beats Fresno State 66-61 after late rally

    In an intense matchup in Fresno, California, Boise State emerged victorious against Fresno State with a 66-61 win on Saturday. Andrew Meadow shone for the Broncos, scoring 22 points, while Tyson Degenhart contributed with a commendable double-double performance.

    The close game saw Fresno State’s Zaon Collins briefly secure a lead of 57-56 with a layup, just five minutes before the end. However, Boise State responded effectively, concluding the game on a strong 10-2 run. Meadow, alongside Emmanuel Ugbo, each added four crucial points during this decisive period.

    Meadow also supported the Broncos with six rebounds, adding to his team’s efforts. Degenhart was not far behind, scoring 14 points and dominating the boards with 11 rebounds. Alvaro Cardenas added to the scoreboard with 10 points.

    On the Bulldogs’ side, Jasir Tremble led with 19 points, followed closely by Brian Amuneke who contributed 17 points. Collins also added a noteworthy performance with 14 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Despite their efforts, Fresno State succumbed to their 11th consecutive loss.

    The game began with Boise State taking a narrow 27-26 lead at the half, thanks in part to Meadow’s 12 points in the first half.

    Looking ahead, both teams are slated for action on Tuesday. Boise State will head out to face Air Force, while Fresno State will host Wyoming.
