STONY BROOK, N.Y. — On Saturday, CJ Luster II delivered a stellar performance, scoring 24 points to propel Stony Brook to a 71-66 victory over Elon in their last game of the regular season.
The Seawolves, with a season record of 8-23 and 4-14 in the Coastal Athletic Association, saw Luster hitting 9 of his 17 shots from the field. He excelled from the three-point line, scoring 5 of 12 attempts, and made one of his three free-throw attempts. Andre Snoddy contributed significantly with 15 points, dominating the boards with 14 rebounds, and handed out five assists. Quin Gorman added to the team’s efforts by scoring nine points, making 4 of 6 from the field and 1 of 3 from beyond the arc.
For the Phoenix, who ended the season at 17-14 overall and 8-10 in the association, TK Simpkins was the leading scorer. He tallied 19 points, along with five assists and two steals, showcasing a strong all-around game. Andrew King supported his team with 17 points and four assists, while Sam Sherry contributed 16 points and pulled down six rebounds.
