Bates Scores 20, Louisiana Tech Defeats Sam Houston

    HUNTSVILLE, Texas — AJ Bates put up an impressive 20 points leading Louisiana Tech to a decisive 90-66 victory over Sam Houston on Saturday.
    Bates contributed significantly to the Bulldogs’ (19-10, 8-8 Conference USA) success not only by his scoring but also by facilitating nine assists and securing four steals.
    His efforts were complemented by Al Green, who went 5 for 9 in field goals and 4 for 7 from beyond the arc, as well as making 5 of 6 free throws to score a total of 19 points.
    Meanwhile, Daniel Batcho demonstrated efficiency by hitting 5 out of 6 shots from the field and sinking 8 of his 9 free attempts, closing the game with 18 points and adding nine rebounds to his tally.

    The Bearkats (11-18, 4-12), although trailing behind, saw a commendable performance from Lamar Wilkerson with 22 points.
    Cameron Huefner contributed 18 points for the team, and Marcus Boykin managed to put up 14 points in the game.

    Looking forward, both teams will be returning to action on Thursday.
    Louisiana Tech is set to host New Mexico State, while Sam Houston will be facing off against UTEP on their home court.
