Idaho Tops Weber State 81-79 in Overtime

    MOSCOW, Idaho — In a thrilling overtime contest, Tyler Mrus emerged as a hero for Idaho, leading the team with 22 points, including a decisive 3-pointer, to secure an 81-79 victory against Weber State on Saturday.
    Mrus demonstrated remarkable precision, shooting 6 of 13 from beyond the arc and a perfect 4 for 4 from the free-throw line. His outstanding performance was instrumental for the Vandals, who now hold a record of 13-17, with an 8-9 mark in the Big Sky Conference.

    Supporting Mrus, Kolton Mitchell contributed 18 points and five assists, while Kristian Gonzalez added another 18 points by hitting 5 of 10 from the field, including 3 of 7 from three-point range, and was flawless from the charity stripe, going 5 for 5.

    For the Wildcats, who now stand at 11-20 with a 5-12 record in the conference, Blaise Threatt shone brightly. He was the leading scorer with an impressive performance, amassing 32 points, six rebounds, and nine assists. Trevor Henning supported with 17 points and two steals, and Alex Tew pitched in with 11 points, seven rebounds, and a couple of blocks.

    In the upcoming schedule, both teams will compete again on Monday. Idaho is set to face Montana State on the road, while Weber State will host Northern Colorado.
