ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Josef Newgarden, a formidable presence in the world of motorsports and the current two-time Indianapolis 500 champion, has joined forces with Klutch Sports Group. This agency, founded by Rich Paul, is renowned for representing high-profile athletes like LeBron James, Darius Garland, Anthony Davis, Draymond Green, and emerging USC star JuJu Watkins.
Interestingly, Newgarden breaks new ground as the first racing driver to align with Klutch Sports Group. The announcement was made public via social media on Friday, just in time for the beginning of the new racing season’s first practice session.
“We find ourselves at a fascinating juncture with this partnership,” Newgarden commented. “Klutch has a proven track record in representing top athletes, although they have yet to explore the realm of motorsport. Conversely, I am stepping into uncharted territory by engaging with a commercial agent. Given the current developments in the series, including the new broadcast collaboration with Fox, it seems like the perfect opportunity for both parties to come together.”
Entering his 14th season in the IndyCar Series, Newgarden stands at the forefront of the sport. He prominently features in Fox Sports’ inaugural commercial, celebrating their new role as the broadcast partner for the series, which includes a special appearance by Tom Brady.
Newgarden aims to make history by becoming the first driver to seize the Indy 500 title for a third consecutive time. During the offseason, he was introduced to the team at Klutch, and the initial meeting proved to be a resounding success. “It quickly became clear that this partnership held significant promise,” Newgarden explained.
By collaborating with Klutch Sports Group, Newgarden anticipates introducing the agency to the dynamic world of motorsports, a venture he believes will facilitate mutual growth. “We are all committed to evolving, and this partnership is a significant step in that direction,” he said.
