    RIO DE JANEIRO — Argentina’s Racing Club secured a decisive 2-0 victory against Brazil’s Botafogo on Thursday, clinching the Recopa Sudamericana title with a 4-0 aggregate win.

    The Recopa Sudamericana is a prestigious contest involving the champions of the Copa Sudamericana and the Copa Libertadores. This triumph marks Racing’s first title in the Sudamericana league.

    Racing Club’s Matias Zaracho initiated the scoring in the 50th minute of the game, providing the team with an early advantage. Later, Bruno Zuculini reinforced their lead with a second goal at the Nilton Santos Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, recorded in the 69th minute of the match.

    In an unrelated incident on Wednesday, two Argentine fans suffered gunshot wounds during a robbery on a beach located in the western region of Rio. Fortunately, both individuals survived the ordeal.
