CHARLESTON, S.C. — In a thrilling game on Thursday night, Ante Brzovic steered Charleston to a decisive 94-84 win over Delaware, coinciding with coach Chris Mack securing his 300th career victory. Brzovic was the standout player, notching 27 points while maintaining an exceptional shooting accuracy by making 11 of his 13 attempts. His contribution was further enhanced by grabbing eight rebounds for the Cougars, whose season record now stands at 22-8 overall and 12-5 in the Coastal Athletic Association.
Joining Brzovic in the offensive showcase, CJ Fulton achieved a personal best of 20 points this season. Fulton’s precision was evident in his shooting, where he converted 6 of 8 shots, including two of four from beyond the arc, and successfully sank 6 of 8 from the free-throw line. Furthermore, Fulton’s all-around performance was highlighted by his 10 assists. Lazar Djokovic also played a crucial role, contributing 15 points by shooting efficiently, hitting 4 of 5 field goals and 7 of 10 free throw attempts.
On the opposing side, John Camden led the charge for the Fighting Blue Hens with an impressive double-double, scoring 31 points and securing 10 rebounds. Brzovic spearheaded Charleston’s early scoring drive, accumulating nine points in the first half to establish a 43-34 advantage by halftime. In the latter half, Brzovic continued to shine, adding 18 more points to seal the win for his team.
Looking ahead, both teams have their next games scheduled for Saturday. Charleston is set to host Campbell, while Delaware will hit the road to face off against UNC Wilmington.
