BOLOGNA, Italy — AC Milan faced another setback after suffering a 2-1 defeat against Bologna in a rescheduled Serie A clash on Thursday, exacerbating the club’s ongoing troubles.

This recent loss adds to Milan’s woes after their recent exit from the Champions League and a defeat to Torino over the past weekend. This string of disappointing results has seen Milan slip down to eighth place in the Serie A standings, while Bologna has climbed to sixth.

The match initially seemed promising for Milan as Rafael Leao scored early in the first half, giving his team a lead. However, any hope of a stable advantage was dashed after the break when Santiago Castro netted a goal for Bologna, capitalizing on confusion in the penalty area following a free kick. The decisive blow came just eight minutes before full time when Dan Ndoye exploited a lapse in Milan’s defense to score, directing a cross into the net to secure the victory for Bologna.

The fixture had originally been scheduled for October but was postponed due to severe flooding in the Emilia-Romagna region. Notably, half of the proceeds from this match were donated to support the victims affected by the flood disaster.
