HAMILTON, N.Y. — Jeff Woodward delivered an impressive double-double as Colgate triumphed over Holy Cross 81-73 on Wednesday evening.
Woodward’s performance for the Raiders included 14 points, 13 rebounds, and he facilitated play with five assists. Jalen Cox supported with 13 points, shooting 5 of 9 from the field and 3 for 5 from the charity stripe while also contributing eight rebounds and four steals. Chandler Baker chipped in with 11 points, making 5 of 10 shots from the field, including 1 of 4 from beyond the arc.
For the Crusaders, Joe Nugent led the charge with 21 points. Gabe Warren added a solid 18 points, while Jaiden Feroah rounded out the key performers with 11 points, nine rebounds, two steals, and two blocked shots.
The contest saw Colgate gain an edge with a 28-23 lead in the initial half through an impressive 11-0 rally. With Woodward’s contribution of 10 points in the first half, the Raiders managed to hold a slim 37-36 advantage at halftime. In the second half, Nicolas Louis-Jacques added a crucial 10 points, and Colgate secured the win amid six lead changes during the period.
In their upcoming matchups scheduled for Saturday, Colgate will host American, while Holy Cross is set to face Bucknell on their home court.
