CULLOWHEE, N.C. — In a commanding performance, Justin Bailey led Wofford to a convincing 90-67 victory over Western Carolina on Wednesday night by scoring 18 points for the Terriers.
Bailey also contributed five rebounds to his team’s triumph in the Southern Conference, bringing their record to 16-14 overall and 10-7 in conference play.
Corey Tripp made a notable impact, securing 15 points, hitting 5 of 10 shots from the field, including 2 out of 4 from beyond the arc, and nailed 3 out of 4 free throws, alongside hauling in six rebounds.
Jeremy Lorenz was also in fine form, hitting 6 of 10 shots to tally 14 points.
On the other side, the Catamounts (8-20, 4-13) saw Marcus Kell leading their offensive charge with a notable 19 points coupled with eight rebounds.
Bernard Pelote added to Western Carolina’s efforts with 18 points and snagged nine rebounds, while Vernon Collins contributed with a solid 11 points and six rebounds.
Looking ahead, both teams are preparing for their final regular-season matches on Saturday.
Wofford will face Furman in a home game, whereas Western Carolina is set to visit Mercer.
The spotlight will soon move to the conference tournament, scheduled to tip off a week from Friday.
