INDIANAPOLIS — Tyrese Haliburton sparked an impressive performance for the Indiana Pacers, scoring 33 points and dishing out 11 assists in a commanding 111-91 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.
Haliburton had an outstanding shooting game, converting 12 of 15 shots from the field and excelling beyond the arc by making 7 of 9 three-pointers. Complementing his effort, Myles Turner added 18 points and secured 10 rebounds, while Pascal Siakam contributed 15 points for the Pacers.
The Raptors’ performance saw Immanuel Quickley leading their scorers with 18 points, while RJ Barrett and Jonathan Mogbo chipped in with 16 points each. In the first half, Haliburton’s play was particularly impactful, as his 17-point tally guided Indiana to a 51-41 lead over Toronto.
Toronto faced a setback as Scottie Barnes was absent from the lineup due to a left hip contusion, following his participation in Tuesday’s matchup against Boston.
Significant Notes
For the Raptors: Jakob Poeltl made his return to action following a hiatus caused by a right hip injury that had sidelined him since February 4. Poeltl managed to score 10 points and grab five rebounds across 24 minutes of gameplay.
For the Pacers: T.J. McConnell was unavailable for the second game in a row owing to a sprained right ankle, which left Indiana with limited options at the point guard position. This scarcity was felt notably when Andrew Nembhard collected a fifth foul early in the final quarter, prompting Indiana to rely on RayJ Dennis.
Turning Point
As the Raptors closed the gap to 97-86, Haliburton and Turner responded decisively for the Pacers by sinking consecutive three-pointers, extending their lead to 103-86 with just over four minutes left to play.
Crucial Statistical Insight
The Pacers demonstrated their shooting prowess by connecting on 15 of 36 attempts from three-point range, in sharp contrast with the Raptors, who struggled and made just 6 of 27.
Next Games
Both teams are gearing up for their next encounters on Friday night. The Raptors will face off against Chicago, while the Pacers are set to compete against Miami.
