    LINCOLN, Neb. — In a tightly contested game against No. 15 Michigan on Monday night, Nebraska’s Brice Williams showcased an impressive solo performance. Williams was the standout player for the Cornhuskers, contributing 26 out of the team’s total 46 points. His efforts were especially notable in the first half when he scored 18 out of the 21 points his team managed. Unfortunately for the Cornhuskers, Michigan clinched a narrow victory with a final score of 49-46, marking their lowest scoring win since 2008 and Nebraska’s lowest score since 2019.

    Williams initiated the game with three successive 3-pointers within the first four minutes, personally scoring Nebraska’s first 13 points. In the first half, Connor Essegian was the only other player from Nebraska to secure a field goal, making a successful shot in the lane with just over nine minutes remaining before halftime. Williams ended the night with a 9 out of 21 shooting record, while his teammates combined for a disappointing 7 of 41.

    Entering the game, Williams had been averaging 19.4 points per game, ranking him among the top three scorers in the Big Ten. This latest performance also saw him reaching a career milestone, becoming the third player in Nebraska’s history to score 1,000 points in just two seasons.
