Floyd scores 18 points in North Texas’ 64-57 victory against South Florida

    TAMPA, Fla. — In a thrilling matchup, North Texas triumphed over South Florida with a score of 64-57 on Sunday, thanks in large part to Jasper Floyd’s impressive performance, where he contributed 18 points to the team’s success.

    Floyd showcased his skills defensively as well, collecting three steals during the game for the Mean Green (20-6, 11-3 in the American Athletic Conference). Brenen Lorient added to the offensive effort with nine points, shooting 3 of 9 from the field and succeeding 3 of 4 from the free-throw line, while also grabbing eight rebounds. Grant Newell also contributed, finishing with nine points after going 4 of 6 from the field.

    For South Florida (13-15, 6-9), Brandon Stroud was the standout performer, leading his team with 20 points along with nine rebounds, six assists, and five steals. Jayden Reid supported with 11 points and two steals, while Jamille Reynolds provided a solid presence inside with 10 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocks.

    North Texas established a commanding lead early in the game, taking control with 18:49 remaining in the first half and managed to maintain it throughout.
