FORT MYERS, Fla. — In his first appearance during spring training with the Boston Red Sox, Alex Bregman made a significant impact by hitting a two-run home run. This impressive drive sailed over the left-field wall during the second inning of a matchup against the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday.

Bregman further showcased his abilities by recording a single in his first at-bat of the game, successfully reaching base in both of his initial opportunities. The celebrated player recently inked a substantial three-year contract worth $120 million with the Red Sox, following a long tenure of nine years with the Houston Astros.

The 30-year-old has a productive season behind him, boasting a batting average of .260 along with 26 home runs. Additionally, he earned his first Gold Glove award for his defensive efforts at third base in the previous season. While the Red Sox are currently assessing his defensive role, he played at his usual position during the game against the Blue Jays.
