Darling scores 20 to guide Idaho State in 83-66 victory over Sacramento State

POCATELLO, Idaho — In an impressive display on Saturday night, Idaho State triumphed over Sacramento State with a score of 83-66, thanks in large part to Dylan Darling’s standout performance, scoring 20 points.

Darling not only led the team in scoring but also contributed five rebounds and six assists, showcasing his all-around skills for the Bengals, who now hold a record of 13-13 overall and 8-7 in the Big Sky Conference. Jake O’Neil also had a strong game, netting 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting, including a 3-pointer and two successful free throws, along with a solid 10 rebounds to round out his performance. Additionally, both Isaiah Griffin and AJ Burgin made significant contributions, each adding 12 points to the tally.

On the other side of the court, Jacob Holt was the leading scorer for the Hornets, finishing the game with 17 points. Emil Skytta supported the effort with 11 points and four assists, while EJ Neal also pitched in 11 points, along with two steals for Sacramento State, whose record now stands at 7-21, with a 3-12 mark in conference play.

Looking ahead, both teams will return to the court on Thursday. Idaho State will be on the road to face off against Idaho, while Sacramento State will host Montana in their next matchup.
