HOUSTON — In an impressive performance, Grayson Carter contributed significantly to Texas Southern’s dominant victory over Mississippi Valley State, ending with a score of 79-38 on Saturday night.
Carter not only managed to score 17 points but also secured seven rebounds for the Tigers, who now hold a record of 12 wins and 15 losses, along with a conference record of 9-5 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Oumar Koureissi supported the team with 12 points, demonstrating excellent shooting by hitting 4 of 5 attempts from the floor and making 3 of 4 from the free-throw line. Zytarious Mortle also had a perfect shooting night, going 4 for 4 from the field to contribute 10 points to the team’s total.
On the opposing side, the Delta Devils struggled defensively and were led offensively by Antonio Sisk, who tallied nine points. Jair Horton added six points for Mississippi Valley State, while Johnathan Pace chipped in with five points as well.
Looking ahead, both teams are scheduled to compete again on Monday. Texas Southern will be hosting UAPB, while Mississippi Valley State prepares to take on Prairie View A&M on the road.
