In a thrilling contest Saturday night, Harvard triumphed over Pennsylvania with a score of 79-78 in overtime, thanks to the exceptional performance of Robert Hinton. Hinton led his team with 22 points and secured eight rebounds, playing a key role in the narrow victory for the Crimson, who improved their record to 10-14 overall and 5-6 in the Ivy League.
The game was tense, and it came down to a dramatic finish. With just 1.1 seconds left in regulation, Evan Nelson sank a three-pointer, which sent the matchup into overtime. In the extended period, Hinton’s clutch two free throws, which he made with 26 seconds left on the clock, ultimately clinched the win for Harvard.
In addition to Hinton’s standout effort, Thomas Batties II contributed significantly with 15 points, shooting 6 for 15 from the field, although he struggled beyond the arc with just one successful shot out of six attempts. Chandler Pigge added to the scoring with 14 points, making 5 of 13 shots overall, including a pair of three-pointers.
On the other side of the court, the Quakers, now holding a record of 7-17 and 3-8 in the Ivy League, were led by Nick Spinoso, who had an impressive performance, notching 24 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Sam Brown also made a solid contribution for Pennsylvania, scoring 19 points, while Augustus Gerhart chipped in with 12 points.
