SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — In a thrilling overtime matchup on Saturday, Cal Poly emerged victorious against UC Riverside with a final score of 112-100, largely thanks to the standout performance of Jarred Hyder, who scored 25 points and secured nine rebounds for the Mustangs.
In addition to Hyder’s impressive numbers, Peter Bandelj contributed significantly with 24 points, shooting 8 of 17 from the field, including hitting 3 of 9 attempts from beyond the arc, and converting 5 of 9 free throws alongside snatching eight rebounds. Cayden Ward also found success, finishing the game with 16 points on 6 of 12 shooting, making 1 of 3 from the three-point range, and hitting 3 of 4 from the charity stripe.
For UC Riverside, Barrington Hargress led his team with 25 points and six rebounds in a strong showing. Nate Pickens closely followed with 24 points and six rebounds, while Isaiah Moses rounded out the scoring with 16 points, along with four assists and three steals, helping the Highlanders maintain a competitive edge throughout the game.
