NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — In an exciting matchup on Friday night, Dejour Reaves played a pivotal role in Iona’s 65-60 victory over Manhattan, scoring 18 points during the game.
Reaves also contributed significantly on defense, pulling down 11 rebounds and making three steals, showcasing his all-around skills for the Gaels, who now hold a record of 12 wins and 15 losses overall, and 9 wins against 7 losses in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Yaphet Moundi was another standout for Iona, scoring 12 points while dominating the boards with 14 rebounds. Comeh Emuobor also made his presence felt, securing 12 points and demonstrating accuracy from the field, finishing with a shooting line of 4 of 6, including 2 of 3 from beyond the arc.
On the opposing side, the Jaspers were led by Devin Dinkins, who matched Reaves’s scoring output with 18 points and also recorded two steals. Masiah Gilyard contributed to the effort with 13 points along with nine rebounds, while Wesley Robinson added value to his team with nine points and 10 rebounds.
Both teams are set to return to the court on Sunday for their next matchups. Iona will be hosting Merrimack, while Manhattan will face off against Quinnipiac, looking to build off their recent performances.
