Tesla has announced a recall affecting over 375,000 of its vehicles due to concerns regarding a problem with the power steering system.
The recall specifically impacts certain 2023 Model 3 and Model Y cars that are running on software versions prior to 2023.38.4, as stated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The issue arises from the printed circuit board that supports the electronic power steering assist, which may become overloaded. This could lead to a situation where the power steering assist is lost when the vehicle comes to a stop and then starts to accelerate again.
According to the NHTSA, this reduction in power steering could mean that drivers have to exert more effort when steering, especially at lower speeds, thereby heightening the risk of a potential collision.

At this time, Tesla has reported no incidents of accidents, injuries, or fatalities related to this power steering issue.
The electric vehicle manufacturer, which is led by Elon Musk, has proactively launched a free software update intended to rectify the problem.
In addition, notification letters are set to be dispatched to vehicle owners on March 25.
For further inquiries, vehicle owners can reach out to Tesla customer support at 1-877-798-3752, or they can contact the NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236.
