Elijah Molden has secured his spot with the Los Angeles Chargers by agreeing to a three-year contract extension on Thursday.
The talented defensive back joined the Chargers from the Tennessee Titans just before the end of the preseason last year and quickly made an impact.
Throughout the past season, Molden started in 12 games and recorded three interceptions, placing him second on the team in that category.
In total, he participated in 15 games before suffering a broken fibula during the second half of a match against New England on December 28.

During his time with the Chargers, Molden showcased his versatility by playing both cornerback and safety on a defense that had the distinction of allowing the fewest points in the league, with an average of only 17.7 points scored against them per game in the past season.
He also achieved a personal best, notching 72 tackles, seven pass breakups, and recovering two fumbles throughout the year.

Before joining the Chargers, Molden had a three-year stint with the Tennessee Titans, having been selected in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft.
Over his four-season career in the NFL, Molden has accumulated a total of five interceptions—two of which he returned for touchdowns—along with 15 passes defended, seven tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries.
Molden’s performance and versatility have established him as a significant asset to the Chargers’ defensive lineup moving forward.
