NORMAN, Okla. — In an impressive display of skill, Raegan Beers achieved a personal best of 30 points while shooting an outstanding 11 for 13 from the field, coupled with 14 rebounds. The 16th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners emerged victorious against Vanderbilt with a commanding score of 101-81 on Thursday night, marking their fourth consecutive win.

Payton Verhulst and reserve player Zya Vann both contributed significantly to the team’s success, scoring 16 points apiece. The Sooners showcased their offensive prowess by shooting 52.2% from the field, making 36 out of 69 attempts.

On the opposing side, Vanderbilt’s freshman standout Mikayla Blakes continued her remarkable scoring streak with 42 points, following a record-setting 55-point performance against Auburn just a few days prior, which set a new Division I freshman record. Khamil Pierre also contributed, adding 11 points to the Vanderbilt total.

Oklahoma maintained control for the majority of the game, trailing for only 19 seconds. A three-point shot from Blakes allowed Vanderbilt to briefly take an 11-10 lead with 6:55 remaining in the first quarter. However, Vann quickly answered with a three-pointer of her own, igniting a 13-2 run that concluded the quarter with Oklahoma ahead 21-13.

As the game progressed, Vanderbilt remained close on the Sooners’ heels, ending the first half with a deficit of just 43-37. Nonetheless, the third quarter proved pivotal as Oklahoma extended their lead from 55-51 to a dominating 77-54, despite Vanderbilt going scoreless for two stretches of 2:09 and 3:51 during the period.

With 9:17 left in the game, Lexy Keys pushed Oklahoma’s lead to its largest at 82-54. This victory marked the fifth time this season that the Sooners have scored over 100 points in a game.

Vanderbilt has now lost four of its last five games and will aim to turn things around when they face off against sixth-ranked South Carolina on Sunday. Meanwhile, Oklahoma will be on the road to take on Arkansas on the same day.
