In Scottsdale, Arizona, the Diamondbacks have confirmed a one-year contract with reliever Kendall Graveman, which has the potential to be worth up to $3.3 million.

According to the details announced on Monday, Graveman is set to earn a base salary of $1.35 million for the current season. Additionally, the contract features a mutual option for the 2026 season valued at $5 million, accompanied by a buyout clause of $100,000.

Graveman’s deal is structured to include performance bonuses totaling $1.95 million for his appearances on the mound. He can earn $50,000 after pitching in 10 games, $100,000 for 15 games, and continues to rise with increments of $50,000 up to 25 games, with further bonuses of $250,000 for 35 games and $400,000 for 45, 55, and 65 games pitched. Additionally, he is entitled to a hotel suite during away games.

At 34 years old, the right-handed pitcher is making a return after missing the previous season due to a labrum repair surgery performed in January 2024.

Graveman began his MLB career with the Toronto Blue Jays back in 2014. Over the years, he has played for several teams including the Oakland Athletics, Chicago White Sox, Seattle Mariners, and Houston Astros.

In the 2023 season, he had the opportunity to pitch for both the White Sox and the Astros, concluding the year with an impressive 3.12 ERA across 68 games. Over the span of his nine-year career in the majors, Graveman holds a record of 37 wins and 43 losses, alongside 24 saves and an overall ERA of 3.95.
