BRADENTON, Fla. — Tommy Pham has signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates that includes a guaranteed payment of $4,025,000, along with the potential to earn an extra $250,000 through performance bonuses.

As an outfielder celebrating his 37th birthday on March 8, Pham will receive $125,000 if he appears in 475 and again in 525 plate appearances, as outlined in the contract which was made public last Sunday. This marks Pham’s tenure with his 10th major league team.

In addition to the plate appearance bonuses, Pham could earn $50,000 for an All-Star Game selection, $75,000 if he claims a Silver Slugger award, and $25,000 for winning a Gold Glove. Should he be voted as the most valuable player, he stands to gain $250,000; $150,000 if he comes in second; and $100,000 for finishing third. Additional bonuses include $50,000 for being named World Series MVP and $25,000 for League Championship Series MVP.

In the previous season, Pham played for three teams: the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago White Sox, and Kansas City Royals. He ended the year with a batting average of .248, contributing 20 doubles, nine home runs, and 39 RBIs over the span of his games.

Over his 11 seasons in Major League Baseball, Pham has maintained a .258 batting average, racking up 139 home runs, 470 RBIs, and 126 stolen bases. His career has seen him play for the St. Louis Cardinals (2014-2018, 2024), Tampa Bay Rays (2018-2019), San Diego Padres (2020-2021), Cincinnati Reds (2022), Boston Red Sox (2022), New York Mets (2023), Arizona Diamondbacks (2023), as well as the White Sox and Royals.
