Two individuals have lost their lives following a knife assault at a retail establishment in the Czech Republic, according to authorities who provided updates on Thursday.

Law enforcement officials reported that a suspect has been apprehended after allegedly stabbing two women in a store located in Hradec Kralove, which is approximately 100 kilometers to the east of Prague, earlier that morning.

Initially, police indicated that the two women had sustained injuries, with one being in critical condition; however, they later confirmed that both victims had succumbed to their injuries. The identities of the deceased have not been disclosed at this time.

Authorities reassured the public that the situation is under control and that there is no ongoing threat to community safety. Further information regarding the incident has yet to be released.
