In an attempt to turn the tide, Alexander-Arnold converted a pass from Salah into a shot that deflected past goalkeeper Emi Martinez in the 61st minute, earning Liverpool a crucial point in a match that could have easily shifted towards defeat.
The draw raised questions over whether this result was beneficial for Liverpool, given the tough nature of away matches, especially coming off a recent 2-2 draw against local rivals Everton. Manager Arne Slot expressed disappointment, saying, “We wanted to achieve more. We have faced this issue a few times lately — we didn’t get what we thought we deserved. Currently, Liverpool has played one match more than their closest rival, Arsenal. With Arsenal set to play at home against West Ham, they have a chance to cut the lead to five points prior to Liverpool’s challenging upcoming match against Manchester City.

After receiving a setup from Dominik Szoboszlai, Nunez had an open goal to shoot at, but he sent the ball soaring over the bar, leaving Slot astonished from the sidelines.
