COLLEGE PARK, Md. — In a thrilling matchup on Monday night, Sarah Te-Biasu led the Maryland Terrapins to an 85-77 victory over the Michigan Wolverines, contributing 21 points to the win. Te-Biasu showcased her shooting prowess, making 8 of 15 attempts from the field, including three shots from behind the arc. This victory marked an important rebound for Maryland, improving their record to 20-6 overall and 10-5 in Big Ten Conference play, while also ending a three-game home losing streak.

Shyanne Sellers also had a notable performance for the Terrapins, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists. During the game, she achieved a significant career milestone by becoming the first player in Maryland history to record a total of 1,500 points, 500 rebounds, and 500 assists. However, the night took a concerning turn when Sellers limped off the court after a hard fall with only 25 seconds left in the game.

In support of the team, Saylor Poffenbarger contributed 12 points and grabbed six rebounds.

On the opposing side, Michigan’s standout was freshman Olivia Olson, who scored 26 points and recorded seven rebounds before fouling out. Syla Swords added 19 points and six rebounds for the Wolverines, who saw their four-game winning streak halted. Additionally, Jordan Hobbs scored 13 points and Yulia Grabovskaia provided 11 points off the bench.

Olson’s strong start helped Michigan take an early lead, ending the first quarter at 22-15. The Terrapins rallied in the second quarter, with Sellers scoring eight points and assisting four times, helping the team to score the last seven points of the quarter and narrow the gap to just 40-38 at halftime. Despite leading 30-20 at one point, the Wolverines failed to score in the final minutes of the second quarter.

The game shifted in the third quarter when Maryland gained a 44-41 advantage off a layup from Christina Dalce and a subsequent 3-pointer from Te-Biasu. From that point forward, the Terrapins maintained their lead, finishing the third quarter with a slight edge of 60-59.

Looking ahead, Maryland is set to face Northwestern on Thursday, while Michigan will host Penn State on Saturday.
