SAN DIEGO — In an impressive performance, Marcus Williams netted 23 points to lead the San Francisco Dons to an 84-61 victory over the San Diego Toreros on Saturday evening.

Williams also contributed significantly on the boards with seven rebounds and added three steals to his tally for the Dons, who improved their record to 21-7 overall and 11-4 in the West Coast Conference. Malik Thomas was another standout, scoring 20 points, along with five rebounds and three steals. Carlton Linguard rounded out the scoring with 12 points, showing efficiency from the field with 5 of 9 shooting, including 2 of 3 from beyond the arc.

For the Toreros, Kody Clouet led the effort with 15 points. Deven Dahlke made notable contributions as well with 13 points, seven rebounds, and two steals. Additionally, Steven Jamerson II recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, also blocking two shots. This defeat marked San Diego’s 14th consecutive loss, which currently stands as the fifth-longest active losing streak in the country.

San Francisco seized control of the game early, taking the lead just under seven minutes into the first half and maintaining it throughout. Carlton Linguard was instrumental during the first half, leading the Dons with 10 points as they entered halftime with a 42-31 advantage. The Dons continued to dominate in the second half, outscoring the Toreros by 12 points, with Williams shining again, scoring 15 of his total points during this period to secure the win.

Looking ahead, the San Francisco Dons are set to face the Pacific Tigers at home on Thursday, while the San Diego Toreros will host the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday.
