Scotty Washington delivered an impressive performance by scoring 29 points, leading Cal State Northridge to a close victory over Cal Poly with a final score of 89-85 on Saturday night.
Washington showcased his shooting skills, completing 10 of 16 attempts from the field, including 5 of 8 from three-point territory, and going a perfect 4 for 4 from the charity stripe. Alongside him, Marcus Adams Jr. contributed significantly with 17 points on 7 for 13 shooting, which included a struggle from beyond the arc at 1 for 5, while also grabbing 10 rebounds. Keonte Jones made his presence known as well, adding 16 points with a shooting record of 8 of 18.
On the Mustangs’ side, Owen Koonce stood out, leading his team in scoring with 21 points while also recording 10 rebounds and four steals. Isaac Jessup provided solid support with 18 points, dishing out four assists and nabbing five steals. Additionally, Jarred Hyder contributed 11 points and facilitated the offense with seven assists.
Looking ahead, both teams are scheduled to return to the court on Thursday. Cal State Northridge will be visiting UC Irvine, while Cal Poly will host a home game against UC San Diego.
