CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Chattanooga Mocs secured a victory over East Tennessee State with a score of 78-71 on Saturday night, bolstered by Honor Huff’s impressive performance, where he scored 19 points.
Huff excelled with a shooting percentage of 62.5% from three-point range, making 5 out of 8 attempts, and he added 4 successful free throws out of 6 attempts for the Mocs, who now hold a record of 19-8 overall and 11-3 in the Southern Conference. Supporting him, Trey Bonham contributed 18 points to the team’s total, hitting 6 of 13 shots from the field and 6 out of 10 from beyond the arc. Frank Champion also played a crucial role in the win, scoring 13 points with an efficient 6 of 9 shooting performance. This victory marks the seventh consecutive win for the Mocs.
On the other side, the Buccaneers were driven by Quimari Peterson, who put on a stellar performance with 31 points, adding four assists and three steals to his tally. DJ Hughes made notable contributions as well, finishing the game with 11 points and grabbing nine rebounds, while Maki Johnson chipped in 10 points for East Tennessee State, who now stands at 15-12 overall and 8-6 in conference play.

Both teams will be back in action on Wednesday. Chattanooga will host Western Carolina, while East Tennessee State will take on UNC Greensboro.
