LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In an exciting matchup on Saturday night, Kyric Davis led West Georgia to a victory over Bellarmine, scoring 26 points in an 81-76 win.
Davis made significant contributions beyond just scoring, recording three steals in the game. The Wolves improved their season record to 5-22 overall and 3-11 within the Atlantic Sun Conference.
Shelton Williams-Dryden also had a notable performance, contributing 21 points along with 10 rebounds. Kolten Griffin added 16 points to the scoreboard, hitting four out of ten shots including three out of five from beyond the arc, while also going five for six from the free-throw line. This victory marked the end of a five-game losing streak for the Wolves, providing a much-needed morale boost.
For the Knights, who now stand at 3-24 with a disappointing 0-14 in conference play, Jack Karasinski was the standout, scoring 13 points. Kenyon Goodin supported with 12 points, while Landin Hacker chipped in with 11 points. As a result of their ongoing struggles, the Knights extended their losing streak to 17 games, which ties them with The Citadel for the second-longest active losing streak in the nation, surpassed only by Green Bay’s 21 consecutive losses.
Looking ahead, both teams are scheduled for their next games on Tuesday. West Georgia will head to North Alabama, while Bellarmine is set to take on Austin Peay at home.
