INDIANAPOLIS — In an exciting matchup on Saturday, Pierre Brooks showcased his skills by scoring 30 points, leading Butler to a 97-86 victory over Georgetown.
Brooks demonstrated remarkable shooting ability, converting 10 of 13 attempts from the floor, including 2 of 4 from beyond the arc, and was perfect at the free-throw line, making all 8 attempts. The Bulldogs improved their record to 12 wins and 13 losses, with a conference record of 5-9 in the Big East.
In addition to Brooks’ stellar performance, Finley Bizjack contributed significantly to the team’s success, scoring 15 points and grabbing five rebounds. Landon Moore also made a notable impact by scoring 13 points, maintaining an impressive shooting streak as he went 4-for-4 from the field and made 5 of 9 free throws.
For Georgetown, Micah Peavy had a commendable outing as well, finishing with 21 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists, and 3 steals. They extended their lead in the second half, executing an impressive 8-0 run that transformed a seven-point advantage into a 15-point lead, bringing the score to 82-67 with just over six minutes left in the game. Moore shone particularly in the second half, contributing 13 points to secure the win for Butler.
