ATLANTA — In an exciting matchup on Saturday, Cesare Edwards stood out for Georgia State, contributing 24 points to propel his team to a 70-65 victory over Appalachian State.
Edwards also showcased his versatility with nine rebounds and three blocks, playing a critical role for the Panthers, who now hold a record of 12-15 overall and 7-7 in the Sun Belt Conference.
Supporting him on the scoreboard, Malachi Brown added 11 points, delivering a solid performance with a shooting percentage of 42.9% from the field, including two successful three-pointers and a perfect record at the free-throw line. Meanwhile, Nicholas McMullen efficiently scored 10 points, making five of his six shot attempts.
On the other side of the court, Myles Tate was the top performer for the Mountaineers, finishing with 16 points to go along with seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals. His all-around game helped keep Appalachian State competitive throughout the match.
